Start clean. Start dry.
Hair and scalp, both, before the bonnet goes on.
Gather your hair loosely at the crown. A pineapple or low bun, a loose braid, or hair left down, whatever you sleep in most nights.
Setting rollers, wrapping extensions, or protecting curls? Tuck everything in fully so the bonnet can hold the shape through the night.
Ease the bonnet on from the hairline back. You may wish to lean forward and carefully allow hair to fall into the bonnet upside down.
Adjust at the nape until it feels comfortable, not tight.
Tuck the ends in, so hair sits freely rather than pressed against itself.
In the morning, ease it off the same way it went on. Front to back. Optional: refresh with oil, leave-in, or a light mist through the ends as usual.
The smooth satin surface is designed to reduce friction against hair, unlike a cotton pillowcase, and to help hold rollers, extensions, or curls in place overnight. It's also designed to sit against hair without drawing moisture from it, so what you put in stays in, rather than pulled into the fabric overnight.
